EVENT | Protein Port: Shaping the Sustainable Protein Transition - Nov 2

Protein Port is an initiative to strengthen the Dutch ecosystem to boost innovation for alternative proteins.

The second Protein Port event will be organized at Naturalis in Leiden on Wednesday November 2, 12.00 - 17.00h.

Protein Port is an initiative to strengthen the Dutch ecosystem to boost innovation for alternative proteins. Planet.Bio and InnovationQuarter coordinate the initiative.

With 70+ confirmed participants from a variety of organizations we are sure this will be another great networking opportunity to strengthen our community.

Background
On June 1st, 60 professionals regionally active in alternative proteins gathered in The Hague to connect and share perspectives on how to speed up the protein transition. Check out the highlights of the event (including some great video interviews and aftermovie)!

Since June, several initiatives have sprouted from the Protein Port community; there are many new members; and there is a lot of movement in the protein space. Time to reconnect!

Matchmaking: Protein Port is all about speeding up the protein transition through collaboration. On November 2, we want to create meaningful connections -and many of them- to solve practical challenges. We are happy that ‘JP’, a seasoned auctioneer, will help us. We invite you to already start thinking about two key questions: “What skills, knowledge and connections do you need from fellow Protein Port members to be successful?” And “what can you bring to other members in the community?”

Behind the headlines Panel: what’s new in cell-based proteins?
The panel conversation revolves around key developments in cell-based proteins, one of the key novel developments where NL is developing an important competitive position.

For the panel we invited three companies, an education organization and an investor, all of them have all been in the news recently:

  • Mine Uran, Founder & CEO, Alver
  • Damien van der Bijl, Investment Director, Capricorn Partners
  • Fabian van der Horst, Director Inholland | Agri, Food & Life Sciences
  • Hans Huistra, COO, Meatable
  • Robert E. Jones, Head of Public Affairs, Mosa Meat

Location
Venue: Naturalis Biodiversity Center, Leiden. Naturalis has two entrances: Darwinweg 2 (coming by foot) and Mendelweg 2 (coming by car or bike).
Getting there and parking: see Naturalis site
