Province of Zuid Holland
En route to a circular South Holland
Economic and innovation growth to accelerate the transition to a circular and “biobased” economy in Zuid-Holland.
In South Holland, we are working towards a fully circular society by 2050. A society without waste. In which we reuse existing raw materials and materials for new products. That is our ambition. It will make us less dependent on scarce raw materials and limit damage to the climate, biodiversity, the environment and our health.
To realise this ambition, we as province of Zuid-Holland encourage cooperation between entrepreneurs, researchers, residents and governments. Together, we look for new circular products and services that ultimately contribute to a lasting change in our society. Since as much as 30 per cent of raw materials consumption is in South Holland, we encourage this joint search in many ways.
As a province, we focus on four themes: Construction, Green Raw Materials and Food, Manufacturing and Plastics. The province of South-Holland fulfils the role of client, connector and booster within these themes, also known as transition themes.
