After the summer break, Planet B.io welcomed several new residents. Each brings valuable expertise and innovation, further strengthening our growing ecosystem. Below, you will find a short introduction to the companies that have recently joined us at the Biotech Campus Delft.
A Milestone for Innovation: Kick-off of the Planet B.io Flexible Bio Lab
Tuesday, October 14th, we hosted a special community kick-off to celebrate that the Planet B.io Flexible Bio Lab is now fully up and running. While the lab has already been in use by several companies, this event marked the moment to showcase the completed setup, share new opportunities, and welcome our newest user.
Planet B.io celebrates 5 years of Biotech Innovation and Collaboration
On Friday, July 4, Planet B.io marked its 5-year anniversary with a festive celebration at the Vakwerkhuis in Delft. Over the past five years, Planet B.io has grown into a vibrant innovation hub, supporting the development of biotech startups and scale-ups working on solutions for a more sustainable future.
€1 million subsidy for sustainable egg alternative: Kick-off of project EGGcellent at Planet B.io
During a celebratory event on Friday, April 11, at Planet B.io in Delft, Meindert Stolk, Regional Minister for Economy and Innovation of the Province of South Holland, awarded a ~€1 million subsidy cheque to the EGGcellent project. This regional innovation initiative brings together the innovative companies Vivici, Proeon and Applikon, along with Planet B.io, which will focus on developing a sustainable, vegan alternative to chicken eggs, specifically for use in the bakery industry. The funding comes from the “Kansen voor West III” program, supported by the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF).
Meet the new faces of Planet B.io
The Planet B.io team is growing! We’re excited to welcome three new colleagues who will strengthen our biotech innovation ecosystem: Mohammed Iaallala (Senior Manager Strategic Relations), Natascha Keijzer (Lab Manager), and Katri Kaunismaa (Subsidy Manager). Each of them brings valuable expertise to help our community grow, whether through strategic partnerships, lab management, or funding opportunities.
From Idea to Innovation: The role of Planet B.io’s Shared Service and Education Labs
To drive innovation, growth, and education within the biotech sector, Planet B.io launched two new initiatives last year: the Shared Service Lab and the Education Lab, located at the heart of Biotech Campus Delft.
