On Friday, July 4, Planet B.io marked its 5-year anniversary with a festive celebration at the Vakwerkhuis in Delft. Over the past five years, Planet B.io has grown into a vibrant innovation hub, supporting the development of biotech startups and scale-ups working on solutions for a more sustainable future.
The event welcomed partners, residents, and friends of the community for an afternoon and evening filled with good food, music, and inspiring words. Speeches were delivered by Cindy Gerhardt (Managing Director Planet B.io), Maaike Zwart (Deputy Mayor of Delft), and Paulien Herder (TU Delft, on behalf of the Supervisory Board), highlighting the successes of the past years and the growing importance of biotechnology in tackling global challenges.
The celebration included kombucha welcome drinks, tasty bites, and music by DJ David Laughton. Guests were interviewed for the official aftermovie, capturing their reflections on the journey so far and their look out for what's ahead.
Looking to the future, Planet B.io aims to strengthen its role as a catalyst in the biotech ecosystem - offering lab space, facilities, and our ever growing network to help pioneers in industrial biotechnology thrive. With new collaborations, flexible bio lab services, and educational initiatives already in motion, the next five years promise even more impact, innovation, and community.
Happy birthday to us! Here’s to the future of biotech in Delft and beyond!
